Green Tea Smoothies

Green tea is a neat ingredient to use as your liquid in smoothies, or it can be added via a powder boost. Green tea is purpoted to have all sorts on antioxidant benefits. Plus, if it is caffienated, it can rev up your metbolism to help you burn calories faster.  A few studies have also claimed that one of the active ingredients in green tea assists with weight loss.

Further, green tea is good for your brain. One study showed that people who drank green tea had more activity in the working-memory area of their brains. Green tea has also been shown to block the formation of plaques that are associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Green tea also can help keep blood sugar stable in people with diabetes.

Finally, Green tea is associated with good heart health and lowering of cholesterol. So, there are a lot of reasons to add it to your smoothies!

Using Green Tea in Smoothies

To use green tea in smoothies, simply add brewed tea as your liquid.  While you can purchase prebrewed green tea, I prefer to brew my own using fresh tea. You can shop for all sorts of green tea here on Amazon.

Another way you can add the benefits of green teat to your smoothies is to use the liquid of your choice, but add some green tea matcha powder to the smoothie. Here is one example.
