Honey is a nice natural sweetener that is often used as an alternative to refined sugar. It is great as an addition to green smoothies to cut back on the bitterness sometimes associated with leafy greens such as spinach or kale. Keep in mind, however, that honey is still a form of sugar. One tablespoon has 64 calories, 17 grams of carbohydrate, and 17 grams of sugar. So it will up your calorie count for the smoothie.
I like to use honey in vegetable based smoothies as an additional carb source. Then, if protein is added, it becomes a pretty nice post exerecise drink.
