Mango Pineapple Smoothie Recipe

This Mango and Pineapple smoothie recipe combines two favorite fruits for a tasty tropical smoothie.   The recipe combines the fruit with a bit of orange for a nice blend of tropical flavors. This is also basically a McDonald’s copycat recipe for its pineapple mango smoothie.

Ingredients and Preparation Notes

To make a mango pineapple smoothie, you will need: mango, pineapple, plain yogurt, orange juice, and optional ice cubes. You can also add optional sweetener such as honey, agave, or sugar to taste.

If using fresh fruit, the ice cubes are highly recommended.  I often like to use frozen fruit. In that case, no ice is needed.

Serving The Mango Pineapple Smoothie

  • Glasses: Serve the smoothie in tall glasses. For an added touch, you can chill the glasses in the freezer for a few minutes before serving.
  • Garnish: Garnish with a slice of pineapple or mango on the rim of the glass or a sprinkle of chia seeds on top for visual appeal.
  • Straws: Provide straws for easier drinking. Eco-friendly options like bamboo or metal straws are recommended.
  • Immediate Consumption: This smoothie is best enjoyed immediately after blending to maintain its fresh taste and consistency.

Mango Pineapple Smoothie

This mango pineapple smoothie recipe combines fresh or frozen fruit with orange and yogurt for a tasty tropical smoothie.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen mango, diced
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple, diced
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (or a dairy-free alternative)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (or enough to the fill line if using a Nutribullet)
  • Ice cubes (optional, depending on desired consistency)
  • Optional sweetener (like honey or sugar), to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Wash the mango and pineapple. Peel and dice them into small pieces. Ensure the mango is ripe for easier blending and sweeter taste. Optional: you can use frozen fruit instead.
  2. Blending: In a blender, combine the diced mango, pineapple, yogurt, and orange juice. If you're using a sweetener, add it now. Blend until the mixture is smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, you can add a little more orange juice or water to reach the desired consistency.
  3. Ice Cubes: If you prefer a colder smoothie, add ice cubes to the blender and pulse until they are fully incorporated.
  4. Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie. If it's not sweet enough, you can add a bit more sweetener. Blend again if you add more ingredients.

Notes

If using a nutribullet, instead of measuring the liquid, fill the cup to the fill line. If using frozen fruit, skip the ice.
