Avocado Smoothie

Believe it or not, avocado makes an excellent addition to smoothies.

Avocado adds a creamy texture and is packed full of antioxidants, fiber, and healthy unsaturated fats. Avocados contain more potassium than bananas, an important mineral that plays many functions in the body as an electrolyte.

Avocados have been shown to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels which can reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke. They also are great for people following a low carb or Keto diet. If aiming for low carb, omit the frozen yogurt in this recipe or substitute for greek yogurt to decrease carbs.

This recipe is higher calorie, but it will also fill you up, making it a good meal replacement. Drink the Avocado Smoothie for a delicious creamy smoothie that provides a variety of nutrients and health benefits.

A smoothie made with avocado to provide a variety of nutrients and health benefits.

Ingredients

  • 8 fl oz soy or almond milk
  • 1 medium avocado
  • 5 medium strawberries
  • 1/3 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt

Instructions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients into the Nutribullet cup.
  2. Pour in the soy milk to the max fill line.
  3. Blend together until smooth and consistent.
