This tropical coconut, pineapple and banana smoothie is loaded with Omega-3 fats as well as other healthy saturated plant-based fats.Don’t be too alarmed by the amount of saturated fat – plant based saturated fats have been shown to be beneficial to heart health and LDL cholesterol levels.  With over 5g of protein, this smoothie is also great as a pre-workout shake or breakfast on the run.

  • 1 ounce (about 2 T) unsweetened toasted coconut
  • 1 ounce (about 10) unsalted almonds
  • 1 medium banana
  • I cup fresh pineapple
  • 1 T flax seed
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • coconut milk to the max line
