UTI Soothing Smoothie

The UTI Soothing Smoothie is full of ingredients to help with a urinary tract infection, or UTI. Cranberry juice and blueberries contain flavonols that are useful in preventing bacteria growth in the urinary tract. Both cinnamon and apple cider vinegar have been shown to have antibacterial properties. Probiotics are also beneficial in preventing UTIs due to prevent bad bacteria growth. Drink the UTI Soothing Smoothie to help prevent a UTI or when you have symptoms that need relief. Of course, also always consult with your physician about medical conditions.

A smoothie to help sooth or prevent a urinary tract infection.

Ingredients

  • 8 fl oz 100% no sugar added cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 medium orange
  • 1/2 cup probiotic yogurt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients into the Nutribullet cup.
  2. Pour in the cranberry juice to the max fill line.
  3. Blend together until smooth and consistent.

No! No! No! No!

Cranberries, oranges, cinnamon and apple cider vinegar are extremely irritating to the bladder wall. These are the absolute worst possible ingredients for anything in the bladder.

My husband's oncologist recommended 100% cranberry juice and blueberries to help treat his stage 3 bladder cancer. So, unless you're an oncologist, Karlya, I'm sticking with the professionals.

Cranberry and apple cider vinegar are a couple of the most popular and long standing home remedies for urinary tract issues and are widely considered safe and effective. Orange and cinnamon are not known to be harmful. Also, please note that this recipe is addressing home remedies for UTI (urinary tract) issues, not for bladder issues, so perhaps you were confusing the two. Of course, as always, anyone with concerns should consult with their physician.
